Work begins on new games area

muga (Multi Use Game Area)

Fauldhouse CDT has been working with West Lothian Council Sports Development and Falla Hill Primary School to raise funds for a MUGA (multi use games area) behind the school which will provide better play and sports facilities for the school and a well-lit and safe recreation area for the community to use in the evenings, weekends and school holidays.
Funds have come from The Levenseat Trust, Awards for All, West Lothian Community Health Grants, West Lohtian Council Sports Grants and The Banks Community Fund.

As you can see from the photos, work began in May 2011 and we will be organising a launch event in the autumn.

We Are Home!!!

FCDT is happy to announce that we have now moved back into our newly refurbished building and we are all settling in well. Our official opening night was a great success and it was an honour to have Isobel McKnight cut the ribbon and open the building on behalf of her late husband Wullie, a founding member of the FCDT.

We welcome all members of the public to come in and have a look around and take advantage of the new services the FCDT are now providing, including; under 5′s soft-play, free internet access, printing service and weekly food co op.

We are also pleased to welcome back Breich Valley Information Services, who will be operating within the building on a daily basis and the Credit Union, which will return to the FCDT building on Fri 27th May and will be available every Friday (12 – 2).

We are also looking for volunteers to assist in manning the building and helping with the Food Co op.  If you have a few hours spare during the week , sign up and help your local community, all help will be greatly appreciated.

Weekly Food Co op will be available every Friday between 10 – 2.

Green Spaces Consultation – Fauldhouse

Thanks to a very motivated group of local people, including our walking group, Fauldhouse Footers, many new ideas and suggestions have come forward to help improve the local green spaces in and around our village. A write-up of the findings of the consultation, which was led by Alan Tuffs, Small Towns and Villages Rural Development Group, on behalf of Central Scotland Forest Trust, can be found here

This work builds on the recent work in partnership with Living Streets, which can be found under the Fauldhouse Footers section.

Thanks to everyone for their contributions. FCDT will help support and take forward the above proposals in partnership with various agencies. More people welcome to join the trust and help us progress improvements to the village for walkers, cyclists and other interested parties.
