VOLUNTEERING OPPORTUNITIES
Volunteers are at the core of F&BV CDT’s activities, from volunteering time at our some of our events once a year, to volunteering on a more regular basis as a volunteer member of our Board of Directors. Every volunteer, whether they volunteer for an hour, or whether they volunteer on a daily basis, are all vital to the success of F&BV CDT. We value their time and their commitment.
We always need volunteers! You may be a student looking for a work placement? You may be retired and looking to fill your day a wee bit? You may just want to be more involved in the local community? If so, F&BV CDT would love to hear from you!
Below are a few examples of the work volunteers do within our communities:
-
F&BV CDT have a Board of volunteer Directors, we also have volunteers on Subgroups such as the EDC Management, Newsletter, Event and Staffing Subgroups.
-
We have event volunteers who volunteer in the run up to the events, on our Events Subgroup and at the events themselves.
-
Volunteers help out on a weekly basis at some of our groups/activities eg Eastfield Community Shop.
-
We have an army of willing volunteers who help annually to pack food hampers and deliver toys and the hampers for F&BV CDT’s Annual Christmas Hamper and Toy Appeal.
-
Dedicated volunteers from the local community help to run the annual Remembrance Sunday Service.
-
After completing training, some volunteers are ‘Pilots’ (Trishaw drivers) on our Cycling Without Age project taking out older, disabled and/or isolated individuals.
-
Volunteers are vital to the success of F&BV CDT’s Falla Hill Forest and Ponds Project, a range of Village Improvement Initiatives and a range of initiatives to combat Anti-Social Behaviour within our Communities, and much more.
-
F&BV CDT also have very young volunteers! Sheephousehill Nursery children water the planters on the village green for the Trust in the summer and Fallahill Nursery and their teachers deliver bags of food to The Hub that they have collected for the Food Larder.
